Choquequirao also known as Chokekiraw (cradle of gold) is a 15th century Inca city, located on the slopes of the eastern Andes mountain range, at 3,050 meters above sea level and 1,550 meters above the roaring waters of the Apurimac River. It is protected by impressive snow-capped mountains and a deep canyon. The city built by the ninth emperor Pachacuteq is a clear example of the high level of knowledge reached by the Inca civilization.

DAY 1: Cusco - Capuliyoc - Chiquiska - Rosaspata
DAY 2: Rosaspata - Marampata - Choquequirao - Marampata

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4 a.m., accompanied by our expert guide you will travel in our private bus approximately four hours until you reach the beginning of the trail, called Capuliyoc here you will meet our muleteers. our guide will introduce you to the expedition team.
From the Capuliyoc viewpoint, the views of the snow-capped mountains are beautiful, after a beautiful group photo, the incredible expedition to Choquekirao will begin. It will be a four-hour downhill hike with a few stops until you reach the place of your first lunch, Chiquiska. The trail can be dusty and slippery full of small stones, but with good hiking shoes and trekking poles, you will have no problem. You will have spectacular scenery and an abundance of flora and fauna. After lunch, you will hike for two more hours until you reach your first camp at Rosaspata.
After your first nutritious breakfast, we begin the 3-hour ascent to the next camp at Marampata. As you ascend, you will enjoy the best panoramic views. This ascent is one of the most challenging parts of the Choquequirao Tour.
On this occasion lunch will be at 11:00 am. Then, we will visit the archaeological site of Choquequirao. From the Marampata camp, it will be an easy hike to the last city of the Inca empire and this will be the most impressive section of your entire trek because you will have incredible views from the summit to the Apurimac canyon. You will also have a breathtaking view of the agricultural terraces perched on the cliff.
Arriving at the beautiful and last city of the Inca Empire, we will explore the main square, the dormitories, the workshops, we will go to the Qolqas (warehouses), descend to the sector of the llamas or alpacas and finally climb to the Usno (ceremonial sector) where we can take the classic photos of Choquequirao, after recording all the corners with our camera, we will return to the Marampata camp to enjoy an energetic dinner.
We will have breakfast at 6 in the morning without haste. Then we will start descending at a slow pace towards the Apurimac River and then we will start ascending on the opposite side until we reach the Chiquiska camp. Here, you will enjoy lunch and the rest of the day will be free or you can participate in the process of making a local drink (cambray) made from sugar cane.
At 6:00 p.m. enjoy your coffee and dinner.
