General Description

Take a journey into the past and discover the Queswachaca Bridge, an Inca engineering masterpiece still preserved in southern Peru. This hanging bridge, made of plant fiber cables, has been used by Andean peoples for centuries to cross the Apurimac River, connecting communities and keeping ancestral tradition alive.

The Incas linked the cities of the Great Tawantisuyo by means of roads and bridges; Q'eswachaka is an example and the only surviving bridge of Inca craftsmanship and ingenuity. Q'eswachaka is rebuilt every year in June by the local people in a unique festival of music and dance, which adds mysticism and sacredness to the ceremony preceding the reconstruction.

This tour shows the vibrant culture of the city in all its splendor. Crossing this suspension bridge is a challenge and an adventure not to be missed.
